clear.gif (848 bytes)Howdy Everybody --

Well, it's getting that time of year again, the holidays.

Hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving. We did, we spent it with Roger's parents in Selma, N.C. Roger's sister, LaRue, and her family flew in from New York. Chloe, Roger's mother, is a great cook. All that good Country food is the best.

I'm trying to think of all the exciting things that have happened to me in 2004.   Well, I got to do a wrap-around for the Lawrence Welk reruns. Then I worked two weeks in Branson at the Welk Theatre it was a lot of fun, I got to see some of the Welk gang.

Then I celebrated my 50th birthday. Roger & my sister JoAnn surprised me with a birthday party at the shop, it was fun!!!!   They cooked hamburgers on the grill (Roger did that), had a nice fruit salad, and birthday cake with ice cream. They really caught me off guard that time. It was real special.

Roger got the chance to go on tour with Charley Pride in August for two weeks as the stage manager.   The tour was in Canada.  He had a great time, and I was so happy for him. Brian Edwards was the promoter of that tour and gave Roger the call to work. Also Roger has been going on the "Live Lawrence Welk Show" tours as the stage manager, he does a great job. Everybody is pleased with what he does.

We still have the Steamboat Sandwich shop, I hang out there if I don't have any music dates.

This past weekend I went to the PBS station in Durham, N.C. during their pledge drive to help promote our show at the Rudy Theatre in June of 2005. They showed my favorite special "Milestones & Memories". After I got through, I was getting ready to leave the station a lady came and said that I had a phone call from Cindy Griffith, Andy Griffith's wife. I said "you are kidding!!!!" They said no, she wants to talk to you. Well, I got on the phone, Cindy was so nice and said that she had been married to Andy for 22 years, and they wanted to call and let me know that I did a good job, then she said that Andy wanted to speak to me. He was so nice, and he gave me such a great compliment, he said "You have one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard."  Well, I almost dropped the phone, to hear a compliment like that from a big Star like him, it was over whelming. We kept talking and to make a long story short, he's going to send me his CD's and I'm going to send him mine. I would have never thought that would have happened. I'm such a fan of his and love his show, I watch it 3 times a day sometimes, that was my big, big highlight.

I want to mention that I've got a new CD featuring Dick Dale and myself. It's a live recording of one of our shows when we had our theatre in Pigeon Forge, TN. 30 tunes are featured on it. We are real proud of it, and I know you will enjoy it. For those of you who never got the chance to see one of our live performances at the theatre, you will feel like you're there when you get this CD. A while back we had two cassette tapes of this performance, but decided it's a CD world now, so we have it in CD form now.

I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas, and a great 2005.

You all have always been so supportive of me since I've been with the Welk Show and I appreciate it so much.

Keep in contact.

May God's blessings always bless your life.
